Most producers wait for inspiration. Big mistake.

Stop Waiting for Inspiration — Do This Instead

Inspiration isn’t something you wait for — it’s something you set up.

When you focus on how you feel first and lock into a sound early, you shortcut overwhelm and create momentum fast.

Here’s how:

  1. Ask the right question. Not “What should I make?” but “What am I feeling right now?”

  2. Pick a vibe. I’ve locked into melodic house because it fits everything I want — I can chill to it, DJ it, or train to it. It gives me creative constraints that actually make creating easier.

  3. Follow your curiosity. Don’t have a go-to genre yet? Open Spotify or YouTube and scroll through your Liked Songs. Save anything that sparks something into a “Production Ideas” playlist.

  4. Stay ready. I do this even at the gym. A song hits? I save it immediately. The spark can come from anywhere.

This is not about building a perfect plan. It’s about finding your spark, creating momentum, and letting that carry you into your next track.

What’s your spark going to be today?
