You’ve already seen my full workflow for creating a track from scratch—loops, MIDI, structure, mixing.
But here’s another creative way to spark inspiration: start with an acapella.
An acapella is just the raw vocal—no instruments. And it’s one of my favorite tricks when I want to flip something familiar into something fresh.
Here’s the quick rundown:
Find a Vocal You Love → Build a Spotify “ideas” playlist. Pull clean audio from YouTube or purchase HQ versions.
Get the Key + BPM → Use Mixed In Key or a quick Google search.
Extract the Acapella → Free tools like Moises.ai split stems cleanly.
Reshape It → Time-stretch, re-pitch, and experiment until it fits your vibe.
Pick Your Path → Rebuild chords around it or chop it into new hooks and melodies with Quick Sampler.
That’s all it takes to flip a single vocal into a new production idea.
